Milngavie is set for a big weekend of live music as Milngavie Weekender takes over Charlie’s Loft from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August 2026.
The three-night programme promises something for music fans of all tastes, from jazz, soul and funk to legendary hip-hop and DJ culture including internationally recognised performers taking to the stage. The Weekender is set to bring a real festival atmosphere to Milngavie.
Milngavie Weekender kicks off on Friday with Brian Jackson, returning to Charlie’s Loft following a sold-out performance last year.
Jackson is best known for his legendary musical partnership with Gil Scott-Heron, with the pair creating some of the most influential and powerful music of their generation.
For his return to Milngavie, Jackson will be joined by Lex Cameron, Steve Walters and Paul Jones, alongside support from Rebecca Vasmant and one further live act to be announced.
Saturday night brings a very special first for Milngavie Weekender, as DJ Jazzy Jeff comes to Charlie’s Loft for a rare and intimate set.
A hugely respected name in DJ culture, DJ Jazzy Jeff has enjoyed a career spanning more than three decades. His appearance in Milngavie offers music fans the opportunity to see an internationally recognised DJ in a more intimate setting. Rather than the large venues and festivals where he has performed throughout his career.

Milngavie Weekender comes to a high-energy close on Sunday with High Fade, one of Scotland’s most exciting funk and rock acts.
The Edinburgh-formed trio have gone from busking on the streets to building an international following. Their energetic live performances helping them rack up more than 1,500 shows across the UK, USA and Europe. The band have also performed at major festivals including Glastonbury and Boomtown, as well as touring internationally.
Milngavie Weekender runs from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th August at Charlie’s Loft, 14–16 Stewart Street, Milngavie.
