Milngavie is taking part in the Scotties in the City art trail. This is a vibrant art trail event set to bring thousands of visitors to the area. All whilst supporting Maggie’s, the charity that provides support for people with cancer and their friends and family.
There are thousands of visitors expected to follow the Scotties in the city trail. There’s a real buzz building around what this could bring to the town. The aim is to encourage many more people to experience Milngavie for the first time and discover new local businesses.
So pop along to Milngavie from 18th June to 16th August to meet our “Westie” and get a family photo. As many thousands of walkers from all over the world pass through this summer, they will be photographed with Westie.
Also, don’t’ miss your chance to get your photo opportunity. He will subsequently be auctioned off in September and may have to live out the rest of his days in a land far, far away.
Westie will be located at the start of the West Highland Way, after recently completed the walking adventure himself with the Milngavie Business Improvement District (BID) team who are sponsoring Westie during the Scotties in the city campaign.
Westie was welcomed with open arms by the local people and business owners in Fort William. He marvelled at the spectacular views of Glen Coe. Had to Stop at the sight of a Green Welly. He was treated like a royal corgi at the Kingshouse Hotel and enjoyed the bespoke canine hospitality in Balmaha. However, after a quick stop at the Beechtree Inn, Westie felt most at home at the start of the West Highland Way after making it back before the launch of ‘Scotties In the City’ art trail.

And finally, Westie is looking forward to meeting you and loves posing for photos. See you soon in Milngavie
