Milngavie’s free, family fun Easter trail will be running from Friday 8th April until 18th April. It’s the perfect activity to get everyone out in the fresh air and have some fun finding all the teddy bears in Milngavie town centre.
There are 14 teddy bears, with a letter, hiding in local Milngavie business windows around the pedestrianised precinct. Find where all the teddy bears with a letter are located and write down which local business window you found them in.
Once complete, flyers are to be handed into Tesco in Milngavie post box to be entered into our prize draw and collect your goodie.
We also have over 60 teddy bears hand-knitted by The Fraser Centre Knitting Group that will be given out as a first come bases and one lucky trail winner will win a £25 Milngavie Gift Card they can use in over 40 of our local town centre businesses.
The knitting group based in Milngavie have been getting together for mammoth ‘Knit One Purl One’ sessions to create over 60 hand-made Teddy Bears for our local community teddy bear trail. The group of knitting enthusiasts are making the teddy bears to provide a welcome of fun for children to hunt them out in the local shop windows in Milngavie’s central precinct. A massive thanks to Joan Crawford, Gloria Edis, Pamela Deans, Anne MacInnes, Lynn Bowie, Joyce Bell and Margaret McDonald!
Pick up a trail leaflet from our local town centre businesses or from our leaflet rack in Tesco Milngavie. Or you can download a digital version of the trail flyer here.

One of the group, Joan Crawford, who has lived in Milngavie all her days said “our knitting group is a great reason for us all to meet up for a blether and knitting session, with tea and cake to keep us going in the Fraser Centre. We are really pleased to be linking up with the Milngavie Business Improvement District to get our teddy bears in the local shops and involving the local children to hunt them out. We hope it provides a lot of fun and family entertainment for everyone who takes part.”
The Milngavie BID have collaborated with the community knitting group as part of efforts to further develop local links with groups of all types in Milngavie. A recent local person, Ellie Grace, has been employed by the BID through the Kickstart programme, who will be acting a local contact for community groups over the next 6 months.
