The annual Milngavie Classic Car Show returned after 4 years, as the showcase event to launch Milngavie Week.

Classic Cars 2022 Milngavie War Memorial Porsche Classics

The Milngavie Business Improvement District (BID) organised this year’s event to align with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, to celebrate over 70 years of cars. Thousands of people turned out on Saturday to see over 100 cars on display throughout Milngavie precinct.

On a perfect blue-sky morning, car owners cruised into Milngavie town centre to take their position for the classic car show. Classic Hillman Imp’s, Porsche, Rolls Royce Phantom 11, Jaguar, WV Beetle, Morgan Plus 4, Buick, MGB Roadster, Alfa Romeo, Daimler, Leyland, Beardmore, Triumph Spitfire and more were spread all over the town, parked in front of coffee shops, memorials, landmarks and local retailers.

The reaction on social media resulted in lots of photographs being posted, including the event organisers.

Local community stalls were in place to promote local community groups and businesses and a vintage fire engine stood pride of place in front of Gavin’s Mill at the Tesco car park along with NYC police cars and other vintage vehicles.

Rotary Club Duck Race Milngavie 2022

Following the event, many car owners have been in direct contact with the organisers with positive feedback.

Greenock Classic Cars: What a wonderful day we all had.  The communication, set up, stewarding, voucher and weather were fantastic.  Really welcoming and a thoroughly enjoyable day. Thanks again for all the organisation. Looking forward to returning.

Classic Cars 2022 Milngavie Station Road

Alex, Linwood Imp Club: Many thanks for a great day out. I’ve never seen so many people at a classic car show. Enjoyed my scrambled eggs in the Alba Cafe using the much-appreciated Milngavie Gift Card. It was good to see car owners being rewarded for putting their beloved classics on display. Loads of stories like “my first car”, “went to Cornwall in one of these”, “passed my test in one of these”. “my dad had one of these”. Took a wee time to get all the fingerprints off the Imp when I got home, but it was cleaned and tucked away in the garage by teatime.
