From today 3rd August to 31 August, customers visiting many of Milngavie’s fine food and drink venues will get a 50% discount when eating in at restaurants that are registered with the Eat Out to Help Out Scheme.
A Milngavie postcode search on the Government website of registered businesses shows that over 100 food and drink businesses within 5 miles of G62 6BW are signed up.
Over the last few weeks Milngavie business owners have been gearing up for a return of their customers who are gradually making their way back into the precinct, to make them feel safe and secure with all the measures introduced around social distancing, sanitising and all guideline measures.
It has been a really challenging four months for the food and drink sector, who are now feeling excited to be able to invite everyone back safely with the added incentive for August.
At least 3,766 outlets in Scotland have signed up, though this figure does not include chains which have more than 26 premises. Scottish Secretary Alister Jack said: “Eat out to help out is a fantastic scheme which will help Scotland’s hospitality businesses get back on their feet. “This is a great opportunity for people in Scotland to get together with friends and family in a safe environment and get up to 50% off their bill.
“The UK Government is doing all it can to drive our economic recovery, and we want to see all sectors of our economy open again where it is safe to do so.”
Local Finsbay and F Pizza restaurant owner, Billy Milligan was interviewed today on Radio Clyde and said “The offer is certainly going to help. We’re lucky that we have a very supportive community in Milngavie and Bearsden. They understand the benefits and the value of shopping local, and they have been very good to us so far, and hopefully they will support this. I think it’s great that the bigger corporate companies are using it, but if people can still shop local it will also be good”
Many local food & drink outlets in Milngavie are prepared for a warm welcome back to more customers.
Here are the terms and conditions as listed on the Government’s official website, where you can type in a local postcode to see who is participating in the offer. SOURCE
